TRAINING - Patricia Buchanan Memorial Scholarship

Established in 1991 by her family and friends, this scholarship honors Patricia Buchanan, an unusually gifted teacher at Sennett Middle School in Madison, whose untimely death robbed many children of a chance to work with her. Ms. Buchanan earned three degrees from the University of Wisconsin, including two from the School of Education—bachelor’s degrees in elementary and secondary education. She was an avid supporter of the Upham Woods 4-H Environmental Education Center and the International Crane Foundation. It was Ms. Buchanan’s wish that the Madison teacher population become more diverse in gender, race, ethnicity, and life perspective.
